Kaxaml is a lightweight XAML editor that gives you a “split view” so you can see both your XAML and your rendered content (kind of like XamlPad but without the gigabyte of SDK). Kaxaml is a hobby and was created to be shared, so it’s free! Feel free to download and try it out. If you don’t like it, it cleans up nicely.

How To Try Out The Microsoft Office Web Apps Technical Preview

There are open source free desktop applications, then there are free cloud-based applications. Microsoft has been working on a free version of its popular Office franchise as well. The free version would be available via the cloud. Microsoft recently launched a tech preview. It is an invite-only preview, however you just need a Skydrive account and some URL tweaking to try out the Microsoft Office Web Apps Preview. Here is how:

  • The following steps seem to work only if you have ?mkt=en-us appended to the Skydrive URL. So click here.
  • Create a Skydrive account (Windows Live Account) if you don’t have one, or log into your existing one. It gives you 25GB of online space you can use to store/backup your files. We wrote about it some time back.

Troubleshooting Problems with Firefox 3 Crashing or Hanging

With all the fanfare surrounding the release of Firefox 3 and the setting of a new world record for downloads, the fact that many people are having problems with Firefox instability seemed to get lost in the shuffle… so I decided to write up a list of troubleshooting methods that might help solve your problems.

There’s a number of reasons for Firefox 3 crashing, which could include any of these, or be something else:

  • Incompatible or Buggy Extensions
  • Buggy Plugins
  • Upgrading an Old 2.x Profile to 3.0 (using a fresh profile works best)
  • Spyware/Viruses
  • Compatibility Problems with XP
  • Video Card Drivers (Make sure you are not using old drivers)
  • Tablet PC Incompatibility
  • Sneezing loudly

You’ll have to read through the article and go through the steps that might apply to you… the last, and potentially best, option is to completely uninstall Firefox and remove all your profile folders, and then install it again, which we’ve covered below.
